Ureteric Injuries During Gynecological Procedures and Repair

Introduction: Injury to the ureter is a risk of any pelvic or abdominal surgery. The anatomic proximity lower urinary tract and female reproductive system renders vulnerable injury during obstetric Gynecologic procedures. Ureterovaginal fistula an uncommon but serious sequela unrecognized distal ureteral surgeries because their common embryologic origin. Method: This study involved series 25 patients, who developed ureterovaginal after Obstetric procedures managed in urology department Muhammad Islam teaching hospital Gujranwala. These patients were with open Ureteroneocystostomy, within 2 weeks primary procedure. In this we present our postoperative result 6 months follow up. Results: All cured (100%) complete cessation restoration renal function anatomy. Conclusion: results showed that patient Ureteric should be evaluated intervened at earliest. Early identification repair fistulas high quality life, less complications, success rate preservation function. keywords: injury, fistula.
